A Sandbach thespian has followed in the footsteps of an actress from the same drama company scooping an award in a major North West drama festival.
Saxon Players' Jo Sutton won 'Best Individual Performance' for her portrayal of her own great-grandmother in Hannah's Left Hook at last year's Wilmslow One Act Play Festival.
And now Jon Beagles has repeated the feat, winning the same award for his portrayal of four separate characters in The Cat and the Canary.
In this production, which Saxon Players revived especially for the festival, a group of actors are recording a radio version of the classic thriller, but things get complicated when it is discovered that some actors haven't turned up and Jon is called upon to adopt a series of increasingly ridiculous accents to cover them.
A Saxon Players' spokesperson said: "The festival marks the end of another successful season for the Sandbach community drama group.
"There is little time to rest as we will soon be starting rehearsals for our next production - Aristophanes' hilarious comedy, "The Frogs" at the end of September.
Earlier this year, actress Jo Sutton once again took the part of her great grandmother, the feisty and formidable Hannah Corcoran as we revealed here in "Hannah The Hammer". the sequel to "Hannah's Left Hook".
"Hannah the Hannah" was a real family affair, for Jo's daughter Caroline Tozer, also starred in the production, taking the role of Lilly.
