Work to install new roofs at a Sandbach school as part of a £1 million improvement project is underway.

Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College was awarded the cash from the DfE's Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) 2022/2023 earlier this year.

And it is using some of the money to fund new roofs at the Middlewich Road school which should be complete by November.

The next part of the project, Phase 2, involves installing new windows at the front of the school.

The school's headteacher, Ellen Walton, said phase 1, the roof work, should be complete by November time.

The school is one of 1,129 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided schools nationwide who have shared £498 million of CIF funding in this latest round of funding.

A total of 1,405 projects across the country will be completed thanks to the CIF funding, including the projects at Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College
