Former Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, will be overseeing a Sandbach pub's first outdoor market this weekend.

Sir Winston Churchill reputedly once gave a speech at the historic Swan & Chequers and this weekend the pub is having an Easter market as well as a host of other events.

And a giant mural of the famous man himself stands on the courtyard wall of the Hightown pub where the Easter market is taking place from 9 am until 4 pm.

Another framed image of the famous PM (below) stands in the doorway of the Hightown pub which reopened last August after a massive makeover by owners Robinson's Brewery.

A spokesperson from the Swan & Chequers said: "Expect up to 15 stalls from various local artisan traders including distilleries, cakes, bakes and arts and crafts."

The following day, on Sunday a fun rabbit-themed Easter egg hunt with prizes for all the family will be taking place. The Easter weekend activities at the Swan & Chequers kick off on Friday night (March 29th) with the monthly Karaoke night.
