A popular 17th-century pub near Sandbach has launched a new menu, confident it has something for all families in the local area.

The White Lion Weston, Main Road, dropped its brand new menu this week (August 12), featuring a whole host of homemade pub classics, now available for guests to enjoy.

Months in the making, the new menu includes fish and chips, a large burger menu and a host of pub classics, including chilli con carne, pan seared fillet of sea bream and butter chicken curry.

Set in a former 1652 farmhouse, The White Lion Weston is steeped in history on the outside and the epitome of modern luxury on the inside (Ryan Parker).

There is also a new Sunday menu, a must for roast dinner lovers in the area.

All food is freshly prepared by the pub's six-strong kitchen team, led by head chef Conor Keddi.

For children, there is also a revamped Little Lions menu, featuring eight mains to choose from.

Nub News' top picks from The White Lion Weston menu launch are:

  • Brisket burger – a giant brisket nugget with raclette cheese, chefs relish and a gravy dipping pot. Serviced on Eden glazed burger buns, skinny fries and home-made slaw
  • Fish & chips – what it says on the tin, served with garden peas, tartare sauce and a lemon wedge. You can also chip shop curry sauce or gravy to this dish
  • Trio bangers & mash – Trio of butchers choice special sausages, served with cavolo nero mash and onion gravy

Head chef at The White Lion Weston, Conor Keddi, told Nub News: "Behind the scenes, we have been working really hard on our new menu to make sure families of all sizes can come to us with confidence, knowing that every single person, from age one to 90 and everything in between, will be able to find a dish they love.

"Where possible, we are supporting regional businesses and sourcing local ingredients, with Snugburys ice cream being a new addition to the menu and Bradwall Bakehouse being our trusted bread supplier.

"As head chef, it's always a nerve racking time when you actually launch a new menu but I am incredibly proud of what we've put together and can't wait to welcome guests into the pub to try it for themselves."

The White Lion Weston offers a unique dining and hotel experience, with a large car park for all.
