Sandbach Mayor, Councillor Laura Crane, officially opened the shop before the Chinese lion blessed the business and then went on to The Cobbles.

The town's deputy mayor, Councillor Ann Nevitt, was also there to see the colourful event.

Cllr Crane said she was delighted with the business coming to the town.

"It's good to have something new and diverse coming to the town and we warmly welcome the new business, " she said.

"It's Sandbach Makers Market this weekend so it's a good week for the shop to open. We wish them every success."

Bigwin Asian Mart owners, husband and wife, Edwin Cheung and Lyn Deesit, fell in love with Sandbach so much they decided to open a shop here.

Sandbach Nub News told here how it's the couple's first business which Edwin from Hong Kong and Lyn from Thailand have owned.

The couple have named their shop after part of Edwin's name.
