Wildlife lover, Christina Quine, has always been fascinated by nature and the outside world.

An avid hiker and photographer, the talented 29-year-old, developed a passion for art as a young child, watching her mother draw.

And now many years later, she's passing on her own finely-tuned artistic talents on to others by holding water colour classes.

Christina from Elworth specialises in wildlife watercolour paintings and drawings and takes limited pet commissions.

But Christina, who graduated with a first-class degree in Fine Art and won the Dean's prize at university, wanted to share her artistic skills with others.

Aside from her commissioned work, Christina is running adult beginner watercolour workshops at St Peter's church hall in Elworth.

"I've enjoyed art all my life. Many people view watercolours as difficult but they aren't," she said.

"I didn't want to throw people in at the deep end. I wanted to introduce people to water colours."

Christina provides everything needed at the workshops, from the drawing outline to brushes and palettes.

She said: "I didn't want people to get stressed out about the drawing aspect. I wanted them to concentrate on working with water colours.

"It's nice to see individual styles. People just need to trust in the process."

So far, the workshops, which Christina runs alongside her commissioned work, have been well-received.

And Christina is already busy preparing for her next projects, collecting ideas and photographs to inspire her wherever she goes.

A holiday to Grassmere in the Lake District provided just the inspiration for a beautiful watercolour painting of a wren which Christina spotted.

"I get inspiration and ideas from many sources. I'm a keen photographer and walker. It's lovely to capture wildlife using watercolours," she said.
