What's On in Sandbach this weekend

Christmas to the max is happening in Sandbach this year as the town gets ready for the big day.

And this weekend is the big light switch-on when the town's lights, some of them new, are turned on and our wonderful town is lit up.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days: Saturday November 27th Ettiley Heath Church Community Centre welcomes you to their breakfast/brunch club. Full English, bacon or sausage bap and eggs on toast are available in the church hall from 10am -12 pm. Unity Methodist Church in New Horizons Church Hall, Wheelock has its Christmas fair starting at 11.45 am. Stalls, games, children's storytelling room and lunches from available from 12.15pm The big light switch-on event starts at 2pm on Sandbach's cobbled Market Square with funfair rides and Silk 106.9's Darren Antrobus hosting live music plus other things happening. Countdown to the big switch-on takes place just before 5pm before the town is lit up with twinkly festive cheer at 5pm. Live music is at The Lion at 9pm with XSive . Sandbach United Football Club in Hind Heath Road hosts a comedy night featuring Eddy Brimson ("The crowd loved him" The Guardian), Markus Birdman ("Made me laugh so hard it hurt" BBC), Tadiwa Mahlunge and MC Rob Riley. Doors open at 7.15pm and the event starts at 8pm. Sunday November 28th Grab a bargain at an indoor car boot sale at Sandbach Indoor Market Hall. The event runs from 8am until 12 noon.
