Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Friday, February 17th

Fancy a cocktail or two? It's the Swan & Chequers 'happy hour' from 5 pm until 7 pm. Cocktails are 50 per cent, cask is £3 and draught is £4 and karaoke is set up from 7 pm.

Fancy some Italian food? SiSi Italian, which launched recently, see our story here, has its weekly slot at Sandbach Cricket Club in Hind Heath Road from 5 pm until 8 pm.

Saturday, February 17th

Sandbach Rugby Club's 2nd XV and 3rd XV are at home to Sedgley Park and Chester respectively at Bradwall Road.

Sandbach United are away to Cammell Laird with a 3 pm kick-off.

The Swan & Chequers has a band brought together by their work at Leighton Hospital and a love of music from across the genres. Free entry. Starts 8.30 pm. 

Like brass bands? There's a free event at Sandbach School in Crewe Road from 7.30 pm until 9.30 pm. Hear five bands perform their section test piece with a week to go before the North West Area contest - and it's free!

The Lion has Northern Funk House from 9.30 pm. Think Ollie Murs. Bruno Marrs and Ricky Martin with a bit of Chic, Chaka Khan and Candy Staton thrown in.

Sunday, February 18th

Fancy some Sunday Karaoke? Get yourself along to The Lion from 7 pm.
