The Ramblers are hoping to make it back-to-back home wins as they host Cammell Laird 1907 on Saturday 18th September.

The squad has been bolstered by some new signings in recent days, with Stanley Tatters and Liam Fitzpatrick joining from NWCFL Premier clubs Congleton Town and Runcorn Town respectively, with the latter also having spent time at the Port Vale youth academy.

Both made their debuts for the Ramblers during the victory against Stockport Town, with Tatters' hardworking midfield performance receiving high praise from the manager Andy Hockenhull.

Sandbach fans will also be delighted to hear that fan favourite Josh Lane has officially re-joined the club after a short stint at Whitchurch Alport. Laney, as he is affectionately known around the club, has over 100 appearances in blue and white, scoring 34 times.

Sandbach have been on decent form so far this season and find themselves 5th place in the NWCFL South, two points ahead of Ellesmere Rangers and one behind Wythenshawe Amateurs.

A win on Saturday, and fortuitous results elsewhere could potentially see Sandbach move up to 2nd place. The top six have begun to break away from the rest of the league as Cheadle Town and Stafford Town find themselves five points behind and face off against each other on Saturday.

Following an unlucky defeat away to Rocester, Sandbach looked the stronger outfit against Stockport Town in their most recent victory and could have scored more, if not for an excellent performance by the visitors goalkeeper Joshua Schofield.

Cammell Laird 1907 have had a challenging start to the season and currently sit in 15th place. Following a convincing win over Cheadle Heath Nomads on opening day, a three-game losing skid was eventually ended by back-to-back victories over struggling sides Eccleshall and St Martins.

Any momentum from that was extinguished by a 2-0 home defeat to Abbey Hulton, before the Cammells have gone on to lose their last five fixtures, conceding 18 goals during that time.

Despite the visitors recent run of form, the game will be as tightly contested as ever. Historically, meetings between the sides have gone in favour of the Ramblers, with the Cheshire side winning 4 of 7 games.

The last match between the teams took place in Birkenhead, with the Lairds losing 3-1 to Sandbach. Josh Lane got his name on the scoresheet in that game, so the visitors will be hoping he doesn't continue his good record against them.
