Fiona Bruce remains on course to lose her seat with Labour's lead in Congleton strengthening, according to the results of a Nub News poll.

Some 41 per cent of newsletter subscribers across Congleton, Alsager and Sandbach said they would vote for Labour's Sarah Russell, if the general election was held today.

The results of the independent poll published today (June 28) show a slight increase from the 38 per cent the candidate received two weeks ago.

Some 41 per cent of newsletter subscribers across Congleton, Alsager and Sandbach said they would vote for Labour's Sarah Russell, if the general election was held today (Sarah Russell).

The news gets worse for the Tories as Reform's Martin York still appears to be second favourite in Congleton, with just under a quarter of readers backing him this time around - just a slight drop from June 14.

Meanwhile the Conservatives continue to play catch up with Ms Bruce languishing third in the race to reclaim her seat.

She took 18 per cent of the votes this week, which is a far cry from the 41 per cent she took at the 2019 general election.

Independent candidate Rob Moreton has stayed at nine per cent.

Results in full:

  • Sarah Russel (Labour) - 40.58%
  • Martin York (Reform UK) - 23.82%
  • Fiona Bruce (Conservative) - 17.80%
  • Rob Moreton (Independent) - 9.16%
  • Paul Duffy (Liberal Democrats) - 4.19%
  • Kay Wesley (Women's Equality Party) - 3.14%
