Candidates standing for Sandbach Town Council in the May's elections are revealed

Cheshire East Council has revealed the names of the candidates standing in May's elections for each of Sandbach's four wards.

Sandbach Town Council is made up of 20 councillors across four wards - Town Ward, Sandbach Heath and East Ward, Ettiley Heath and Wheelock Ward and Elworth Ward, with five councillors for each ward.

Councillors are elected by public vote every four years as is happening on May 4th. Any vacancies occurring outside of the four yearly election may be filled by co-option or a by-election.

Those standing for the four wards are listed below:

This year's elections are different in that you will need photographic ID. You need to show one form of photographic ID to staff at the polling station, but it needs to be the original version and not a scan, image or photocopy.

You cannot use a picture of the document on your phone. It must be the original document. If you have a form of accepted photo ID which is out of date, you can still use it if it still looks like you.

There following are acceptable ID:

  • passport
  • driving licence (including provisional licence)
  • blue badge
  • certain concessionary travel cards
  • identity card with PASS mark (Proof of Age Standards Scheme)
  • biometric Immigration document
  • defence identity card
  • certain national identity cards
