While most of us have opted for an artificial tree or a real one creative group near Sandbach has gone for something a little different.

And it won't need watering and neither will the branches start dropping bits for the Christmas tree is knitted!

Holmes Chapel Community Yarn Bombers are famous for creating the 7ft Charles III are we revealed here for the Coronation and the year before they made a life-size Queen for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

But now they are in festive mode after creating a magical Christmas display which is in the front window of the Tesco Express in London Road.

Anita Armitt who helped set up the amazing group of knitters and crafts people, said: "Our Christmas theme is ' Giving ' and all hats will be given to those in need.

"We enjoyed doing this and hope those looking at it get as much pleasure as we did creating it."
