Strictly Dancing may be taking the UK by storm but two dance lovers and musicians nearer to home are doing their bit too.
Sue and Tim Walker have always loved dancing and music and have been holding dance events and organising holidays for a while.
Now the Sandbach couple are urging people to take a leaf out of some of the Strictly contestants and get fit on the dance floor.
For they say dancing is not only a good way to keep fit but it's also a way of socialising and is great for mental well-being.
"Strictly is one extreme but there's dancing in a calmer, more gentle way which is what our sequence dance events are aimed at," said Sue.
"It's about getting up and having a go and everyone is welcome to attend. It's a fun way of improving balance, posture and memory.
"You won't pull a muscle doing this – it's gentle exercise in a fun, welcoming environment."
Twice a week, the Walkers hold dance events at Smallwood Village Hall in School Lane on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30 pm until 10 pm.
The events attract dance lovers from far and wide, not just the Sandbach area with the youngest aged 55 and the oldest in their mid-80s.
And Sue, who plays a digital saxophone and Tim the keyboard, play a variety of music from the 1960s and 1970s.
Fans of shows such as Evita, Cats , Cabaret and Phantom of the Opera will recognise many of the tunes.
"We just want people to come along and have a fun time. It' about having a go, that's all we ask," says Sue.
The dances cost £5 per person and tea and coffee is 50p and dancers should take their own mug.
