Police have been deployed to a religious group in Crewe, over sexual offences, modern slavery and forced marriage offences.
On Wednesday 29 April, officers conducted three warrants at The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light (AROPL), Victoria Avenue, who have multiple addresses in Crewe.
Around 8.50am, 500 officers supported by the North West region were in attendance at AROPL addresses and Webb House.
This formerly children's orphanage was purchased by AROPL in 2021 after moving from Sweden.
Several males, of multiple nationalities, including American have been arrested.
Police have confirmed members of the group are being investigated, but not the AROPL themselves.
Details on the arrests will be confirmed by police shortly.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "Officers from Cheshire Police, with support from colleagues of neighbouring forces, are currently conducting a warrant at three addresses in Crewe.
"This is following allegations of serious sexual offences, modern slavery and forced marriage.
"Further details will be provided when available."
