It's a busy weekend ahead with lots happening - it's Sandbach Transport Festival.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Thursday, April 18th

There's a felting workshop at Sam Dale & Sons in Holmes Chapel from 6 pm until 8 pm. The two hour workshop with hot drinks and biscuits costs £35 per person. Needle felting landscapes to hang or add to a display and enjoy for years to come.

The Cheshire Cheese pub in Wheelock has its weekly quiz night from 8.30 pm. Pie, chips, gravy and a pint for £10.99 followed by the quiz at 8.30pm. Free entry with a £30 bar tab up for grabs, as well as many more prizes.

Friday, April 19th

Don't forget it's Happy Hour at the Swan & Chequers from 5 pm - 7 pm and there's 30 per cent off 'Dirty Fries'. Start your weekend off in style!

Do you like Italian food? SiSi Italian, which launched recently, see our story here, has its weekly slot at Sandbach Cricket Club in Hind Heath Road from 5 pm until 8 pm.

Saturday, April 20th

It's Sandbach Transport Festival - the town's famous two-day annual event celebrating its links with the transport industry.

Hundreds of people from all over the region visit the market town, once the home of ERF and Foden Trucks, for the popular event. It features a motorcycle stunt team, a display of replica famous cars and a Spitfire plane. 

The two-day extravaganza includes the new Foden and ERF exhibition on Saturday.

The motorcycle stunt team. "On The Edge Motorcycle Stunt Show" will perform on Scotch Common and there will be a vehicle display of Foden and ERF trucks from 11 am until 4 pm. celebrating the town's transport heritage as we revealed here

Music is also a big part of the transport festival with a full line-up starting from 1.30 pm on the Cobbles.

Got something to repair? The Repair Cafe Sandbach is on again at St Peter's Church Hall in Elworth from 11 am until 2 pm. We've featured it many times but here's a recent story about this great project here

Meanwhile Sandbach United, who are chasing promotion, face a big match. They take on fourth placed Abbey Hey in the NWCFL play off semi-final at Hind Heath Road. Kick-off is 3 pm and tickets are priced from £1 to £6 and are available through this link HERE

The Military Arms in Congleton Road has JMD are playing at 4 pm.

Meanwhile Sandbach United are chasing promotion and have a big match - the semi-final of the play-offs. They take on fourth placed Abbey Hey in the NWCFL play off semi-final as we revealed here Kick-off is 3 pm and tickets are priced from £1 to £6 and are available through this link HERE

Fancy unwinding after a busy day? The Swan & Chequers has live music with Harmony Junction playing from 8.30 pm. Well worth a visit!

Sunday, April 21st

The second day of Sandbach Transport Festival. The world-famous Foden's Band are playing. There will be a vehicle display from 11 am until 1.30 pm and it's the legendary parade of vehicles through the town at from 1.30 pm until 2.30 pm. Live music on the Cobbles continues from 1 pm until 3.30 pm.

Meanwhile at Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road the club is hosting the U10 Cheshire Festival with over 450 players from teams across Cheshire. The fun starts at 10am.
