A group of young musicians are set to hit the high note – thanks to Sandbach's world-famous Foden's Band.

The band, whose roots are in the town's legendary Foden truck company, has been successful in its application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Twenty-three young people are set to be working towards an 'Arts Award Explore' after Foden's Band was successful in its application.

The award is a recognised qualification through Trinity College London

The moderator commented that "the evidence was well presented and very detailed as well as demonstrating knowledge, understanding, creativity and communication".'

Speaking on behalf of Foden's, Mark Wilkinson, said: "Foden's would like to thank all the young people, as well as their parents/guardians for their interest in the award and for using Foden's as their main inspiration.

"We would also like to thank the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Carole Crompton for submitting the funding application as well as David Hirst who acted as our advisor working closely with the youngsters over the past six months."

Sandbach Nub News told last month (February) how Foden's was celebrating after notching up yet another accolade.

It was the 7th consecutive title at the 'areas' beating the band's own previous North West area record of six titles between 2006 and 2011.
