Summer fun and learning with are coming to Sandbach with STEM Skill Clubs.

Skill Supply is bringing its holiday STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) Skill Clubs to Sandbach and Northwich for the eleventh year running.

Designed by experienced scientists and teachers, these clubs offer a vibrant, encouraging environment where children aged eight to 13 years can learn life skills through engaging, hands-on activities.

Founded in 2014 by scientists and educators Dominic and Liz Surry, Skill Supply runs workshops and programs for companies, universities, and schools nationwide, using STEM challenges to bridge skills gaps.

Their holiday clubs bring that same expertise to young people, providing a fantastic alternative to traditional holiday clubs. It's the perfect opportunity to try something new, make new friends, and keep young minds active and entertained.

This summer the schedule includes exciting themes such as Stop Motion Animation, Hydraulic and Pneumatic engineering, Crumble coding, lab skills and chemical reactions, FPV drone flying, Sphero robotics, film-making, First Aid and more!

Each day is designed to spark interest and develop skills but mostly to have fun!

Parents and carers can be reassured that all STEM Skill Club facilitators are trained, experienced, safely recruited, and DBS-checked. All activities are risk-assessed, and they are an OFSTED registered provider.

Bring your imagination to life! You'll make your own stop motion movies using Lego, clay, and all sorts of cool materials. Then, get ready to go big! We'll help you create a life-size version of your movie starring you and your friends!

Tue 12 Aug – Hydraulic and Pneumatic Power Engineering

Become a master of motion! You'll engineer awesome creations that move with hydraulic or pneumatic power. Design and build your own incredible machines, and even create your own game powered by air and water pressure!

Wed 13Aug – Crumble Coding- STEAM Art

Unleash your inner artist and coder! You'll learn how to use the Crumble microcontroller to create amazing moving art. Explore coding in a fun, creative way and make your artwork come alive with lights, movement, and interactive elements.

Thu 14 Aug – Science of US – Lab Skills and Remarkable Reactions

Step into the shoes of a real scientist. You'll learn essential lab skills and conduct exciting chemical reactions. Discover the how and why behind amazing reactions.

Fri 15 Aug – FPV Drone Flying

Take to the skies! You'll pilot our amazing new drones through a thrilling obstacle course and experience the world from a bird's-eye view with FPV goggles. Get ready for an immersive flying adventure!

Second week:

Mon 18 Aug – Sphero Robotics Day

Using our Sphero RVR+ and Bolt robots, you'll code, engineer, and design exciting ways for them to interact with each other. Create challenges, build attachments, and watch your robots collaborate!

Tue 19 Aug – Waterways and boats

Ahoy, engineers! Explore the forces of buoyancy and propulsion as we investigate how boats float and move. Using science and engineering, you'll design and build various vessels to test on our waterways. Will yours be the fastest or most buoyant?

Wed 20 Aug – Sphero Robot Sports Day

Get ready for robotic competition! Code and engineer our Sphero robots to compete in a thrilling sports day. Think robot races, obstacle courses, and maybe even a robotic egg-and-spoon race! Who will take home the gold?

Thu 21 Aug – Science of Us – First Aid + injury simulation

Become a first aid hero! Learn the essential skills to help in emergencies, then get creative with special effects to simulate realistic injuries. Practice your new skills and learn how to treat various wounds. (Note: Participants should be comfortable with simulated blood and injuries.)

Fri 22 Aug – Film making
